Staff Update: November 6th

Nuevas Fronteras and Crestview Elementary

KUDOS and CELEBRATIONS:

  • District 833 successfully passed 2 of the 3 referendum questions on Tuesday's ballot. Questions 1 and 2- to renew and increase our operating levies, passed. Question 3- to purchase land for future development, did not pass by a slim margin.
  • Thank you to Charlie Baranauckas for all of his work in 5th grade! Charlie is taking a leave beginning next week, and we wish him well!
  • Cheers to Elizabeth Sampson, who will be transferring into a new role as a 5th grade teacher at Crestview for the remainder of this school year. We will also begin the process to fill Elizabeth's Spanish and Student Support position as soon as possible!
  • Felicitaciones to Lisa Day, Nancy Johnson, and Colleen Burns for a very successful Monster Mash last Thursday- a fabulous time was had by all!
  • Sincere appreciation also abounds for the CES/NFSI Special Education Team, who have done incredible work on behalf of our students thus far this year. THANK YOU!
  • A huge thank you to the NFSI 5th graders who helped with last week's NFSI Update Video: Kaydence, Sofia, Johanna, Ethan, Ethan and Sky.

Know of other staff/students who have done something great?

(or even just kind of cool?) Please send a note to Tina so we can celebrate them here!

#EdCamp833! Tomorrow, 7:30 a.m. @ Park High School

Please register on PDExpress, under: DW: 11/8/13 EdCamp.

These are the things teachers need to do when they arrive:

    • Check-In in the lobby. We will have about 30 student volunteers helping with this.
    • Get their name badge – these are organized by first names.
    • Go to the Gym.
    • The website has all of the other FAQ's you might have – go here.

More information about #EdCamp833, including what to bring with you, was included in last week's staff update.

Also- if you haven't gotten a chance to get signed up and logged into Twitter, you may want to get in and get rolling before heading off to #EdCamp833 tomorrow!

Special Events and Gatherings- A Reminder!

Please notify the Office when you are scheduling a classroom or grade-level event to which parents are invited. There are super busy times of the year when we will need to coordinate these events to balance space available in the building and in the parking lot. These events will then also be posted to SharePoint. Thanks!

Want to add something to this staff update?

The staff update will typically come out on via email on Thursday or Friday each week. If you have an item that you would like to include in this bulletin, please email it to Tina by Wednesday noon, and we’ll do our best to add it to the bulletin. Let’s work together to use this bulletin as our primary method for making all-school announcements, and hopefully by distributing information in one central way, we can decrease the number of emails that we all receive.
