Keenan Media Center Updates

Spring 2015

Laptops, Laptops, Everywhere!

Ms. James, Mr. Adams and I work very hard daily on the distribution and repair of DLE laptops to keep things connected at Keenan.
After the last distribution on March 3rd, 4th and 5th, all 9th, 10th and 11th students (who paid the maintenance fee-Thank you Mrs. O'dell) now have a DLE laptop.

Reading is Fundamental (RIF)

Now to find the time and manpower to get the books ready for our RIF distributions in April. I had to cancel our March 17th and 18th distributions because our books did not arrive until March 16! The delay in delivery was caused by the weather in the northeast, computer problems at AKJ Books, and a lost shipment.
Hopefully we will be ready for our distributions scheduled for April 21 (B-day) and April 22 (A-day).
Looking for volunteers to stamp books. No experience needed!

Author Sharon Flake visits WJ Keenan via videoconference

Sharon Flake interacted with students from Columbia, Keenan and CA Johnson high schools about her books and personal writing style on March 10, 2015 . This was a collaborative effort between Pamela Williams, Brenda Boyd and Gloria Coleman, media specialists from Columbia HS (where Ms. Flake was physically located), Keenan HS, and CA Johnson HS, respectively.
