Winter is Coming!
Greetings Bronco Families!
The 2nd quarter is underway, so much so that our progress reports will be coming out soon. These will be emailed to the primary email address on each student's account, and will be available on Homelink as well.
With the change in seasons, we have some big breaks coming up- including this Friday for Veteran's Day, November 21st-25th, and then Winter Break from December 22-January 9th. Finals are embedded into our bell schedule beginning December 16th for A period, and running December 19-21 for all other classes. Please take a look at the master calendar and plan accordingly- all students take finals. We do not give early finals, and families should avoid scheduling trips early during these days.
We have some outstanding student work to celebrate from the first quarter - be on the lookout for our Celebrations of Student Excellence- coming soon!
November 14th is our 8th Grade Parent Info Night- for all families thinking of coming to Northgate, this is especially tailored towards our families who are coming from private school, or the unassigned Clayton Area, who want to learn more about the school. This is not a night with logistics for those already planning to attend Northgate, but all are welcome! 6pm in our gym.
As always, there is a ton to celebrate on campus, let's hit a few of them!
- Tonight, Drama I put on their first production of the year, Aliens vs Drama Club. With that, all three levels have produced outstanding shows this quarter, with 'The Blue and the Gray' by Drama 2, and 'Carrie', by Production Workshop. Stay tuned for more news out of the theatre department, and huge thank you to director John Litten!
- Featured in the lobby of the Jack Deroux Theatre is a new art display, 'Portraits'. Up for a limited time, take a peek!
- Football has earned a 5th seed in the NCS playoffs, and will be playing Las Lomas on Friday Nov 11th at 7pm at Las Lomas. Congratulations to our players and coaches on their post-season bid- don't miss the playoff game- tickets are available at gofan.co
- Boys Waterpolo won the DAL championship! Their success last year placed them in the Open Division for NCS playoffs, and they lost a tough first round game to Campolindo.
- Girls Waterpolo ALSO won the DAL championship! They won their quarterfinal game against Alhambra this weekend, and play Terra Linda TOMORROW at 4pm at De La Salle! Tickets are available on Gofan.co.
- Cross country competed at the league championships this weekend after a great performance at Mt Sac- On the boys' side, our Varsity boys finished 7th, with Robert Benard receiving a medal at 18th place. JV Boys finished 2nd, and Frosh/Soph finished 3rd. On the girls' side, Frosh/Soph finished third, and our JV and Varsity girls both impressed with a 2nd place finish.
There is so much happening! Keep up by following Northgate High School on Twitter - @northgatehs
Have an excellent week, and GO BRONCOS!

From senior Tatiana Advienko:
I am the Vice Chair of the Mt. Diablo Education Foundation’s Student Advisory Committee. We have organized an online college information night on Wednesday, November 9th from 5:30 - 8 PM to be held over Zoom. Our district’s college and career advisors will be discussing how to write college application essays, addressing alternatives to four year colleges, and providing critical info on financial aid/FAFSA/DACA.
We would appreciate it if you could share this flyer (attached below) with students/parents on Student/Parent Square and in your school announcements to encourage participation, especially among juniors and seniors. If you have any questions, you can contact Abhi Mokkapati (2023 MDEDF SAC Chair) at abhimokkapati@gmail.com.
Thank you!
