Art is important to Greece because its an piece of the Greeks History, also it gave to artist calm in all the chaos in the real world.
How did it contribute to society?
Art work contributed to society by giving to the people who lived their a very pretty homes roads and town.

1- Greece made most of its contributions to western classical art in the ancient period.
2- Greece continues to yield art and artists, such as the 20th-century expressionist painter Theodoros Stamos.
3- Historians typically divide ancient Greek art into four periods: Geometric, Archaic, Classical and Hellenic.
4- Ancient Greek art primarily consists of painting, sculpture, pottery, architecture and music.
5- The Discus Thrower by Myron is a well known statue from the Classical period.
6- The Greeks divide architecture into three different categories, called orders
