Gayman Gazette
One Team! - June 15th Edition
Dear Gayman Families,
Thank you! Thank you for your support during these unprecedented times. When I reflect on 2019-2020, I recognize that our school year encompassed more than distance learning, more than Teams calls and virtual chats. While it feels that these events have dominated our reflection of the year, I also know that our school year began - together. Going forward, I will never take for granted classroom lessons, parent visits, festive parties, and HSA events. Those are the times that build memories and connections for children. This Gayman Gazette includes some of those flashback photos. I hope you enjoy them.
As we look forward to the 2020-2021 school, the only fact that everyone knows is that no one knows what the school year will look like. We have months until the start of the school and the world keeps changing everyday. Yet, I am thankful that we can plan together. I encourage you to complete CBSD Fall 2020 District Planning Survey. Share your voice and your ideas. Please know, that as I plan for the school year, the health, emotional well-being and safety of our children remains the priority for me and for the staff at Gayman Elementary School.
Looking ahead to next year, there is very little change in our staffing:
- Kindergarten - Mrs. Menard
- First Grade - Mrs. Klebba, Mrs. Kruzits, and Mrs. Trouts
- Second Grade - Mrs. Hofmann, Mrs. Sinn, and Mrs. Ventresca
- Third Grade - Mrs. Brodzik, Mrs. Flanagan and Mr. Pisch
- Fourth Grade - Mrs. Bullard and Mrs. Thompson
- Fifth Grade - Mr. Hudak, Mr. Isaacsohn, and Mr. Maduzia
- Sixth Grade - Mr. Grace, Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Milroy
In our specialist staffing, Ms. Constable, and Mrs. Rhodes will continue to work in the special education and gifted department, while Mrs. Homont will join the staff of Doyle Elementary School teaching kindergarten. Mrs. Kunkle will continue to enjoy her time with her baby girl, Catherine Joyce who was born in January. Mrs. McGough will spend next year immersed in studying, as she takes a sabbatical to earn a Reading Specialist Certificate and Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement. We look forward to Mrs. Kunkle's and Mrs. McGough's return in 2021!
As you may know, we are saying goodbye to Mrs. Christine Volpe. After 35 years of sharing her time and talent with the students in the Central Bucks School District, Mrs. Volpe. will be retiring. Our music department will never be the same. She will be missed!
With the exception of a new music teacher, our specials teachers will remain the same:
- Art - Mrs. Hallman-DiCicco
- Library - Mrs. Thomas
- Music - To be announced (Mr. Losch and Mrs. Gulla will be returning as well!)
- PE - Mr. Foster
- QUEST - Mr. Shaw
As the school year comes to a close, we are also saying goodbye to Mrs. Musich, our school nurse. We greatly appreciate her dedication to our students! In 2020-2021, Mrs. Cheryl Silvesteri, Mrs. Moran, Mrs. Kehoe, and Ms. Meier will return to support our students' physical, emotional, and academic needs.
Looking ahead to 2020-2021, just as in previous years, final class assignments will be announced in early August via the Parent Portal. More information will be shared via summer Gazette issues.
Again, thank you for a wonderful year. Your partnership is valued.
Sincerely,
Kelly Carter

Third Trimester Report Cards
Please read the following message from Nadine Garvin, Asst. Superintendent of Elementary Education.
Third Trimester progress reports are available for students in grades kindergarten through six via the district’s parent portal. The report cards are located under the DOCUMENTS option.
As you know, the focus of distance learning has been on instruction, engagement, feedback, and relationships. As shared with the roll-out of our Distance Learning – Phase 2, students are being assessed using a “pass/fail” system.
- M = Satisfactory Work (Pass)
- / = Unsatisfactory Work (Fail)
- Blank = Not assessed during distance learning and/or student did not participate in or complete work related to that descriptor.
Grades 4-6 (Only)
- Overall subject grades have been assessed using the following scale:
- S = Satisfactory
- U = Unsatisfactory
- I = Incomplete
As we head into the summer months, we want to share an optional learning resource that families can look to for extra enrichment. It’s filled with online and offline activities curated with our Central Bucks students in mind. Find it here.
