The constitution
The constitution is a signed article stating many laws. It is very old. The constitution states that tyranny is to be avoided by spreading the power to three different branches. The branches are Legislative (below on the left), Judicial (below in the middle), and Executive (below on the right).

The representatives are sorted into houses. Each state sends 1 person for every 30,000 people in that state.

ALL governmental branches depend on each other by having to ask each other about bills, projects, and country-affecting affairs.

State and Central Government
The power that the government has is split into smaller government called a state capital. The state capital is in charge of the state that it is located in.
Background Info
The constitution is from 1787. It is VERY VERY old. It was made to GUARD AGAINST tyranny.
