Head Lice Reported

A parent contacted a teacher about a case of head lice upstairs so I just emailed a note home to parents to be checking.

We are preparing for February Count and I thought this was a good time to send out reminders on attendance:

Teachers are responsible for accurate attendance records. Please make sure that attendance corrections are made immediately. You do not have to worry about the absence being marked excused but you must make sure you accurately record if a student is absent. Thank you for getting attendance completed in the first ten minutes in the morning and after lunch.

When you have a sub they must have an attendance list, record attendance, sign and date it. Please make sure you leave a sheet for am and pm attendance. Donna has noted that some teachers leave several copies for the sub in their sub folders. A sticky note will not work for the auditors. Thank you.

Report Cards

I know that you communicate on a regular basis with parents and I want to thank you. This is very important because any academic problems or behavior concerns should be addressed during the marking period. This helps prevent surprises.

I will remind parents about communicating with teachers first about any concerns.
