Cell phones have evolved starting in the 1970's and now today. They have changed from something simple and big to something easily portable and has a touch screen.
Oldest to Newest
Box Phone
The first cell phone was made in 1973 by a Motorola employee Martin Cooper. This phone was a major step in mobile technology.
Flip Phone
The flip phone first came out in 1982. It was one of the first small hand held electronic phones until 1993. Phones later started to have cameras attached to them to take pictures.
iPhone
iPhones came out in 2007. They are a big hit because they have touch screens, advanced cameras, and many other advances. There are different versions just becoming higher in technology advances.

As you can see, the graph shows that many younger people (25 or under) have a phone. Most older people (65+) don't have a phone. All of the lines on the line plot are increasing but younger people increase faster.
