2022 4honline Enrollment
All Volunteers will need to be screened this year. Regardless of the last time you completed DHHS screening, this will need to be completed for all Dodge County volunteers. The cost is $5.00, and 4honline will guide you through the steps at the end of your enrollment as a volunteer. Please complete the screening as soon as possible!
Nebraska 4-H has been transitioning over the past few months to a new website for online enrollment. The new site is user friendly and many 4-H families have appreciated the changes. We hope the same is true in Dodge County. If you have any issues with the site or volunteer screening, please contact Shane or call our office, 402-727-2775 for assistance.

Nebraska 4-H Livestock Achievement Program
The Nebraska 4-H Livestock Achievement Program is designed to promote all educational aspects of 4-H livestock projects including selection, production, leadership, and exhibition by recognizing youth striving to improve in their livestock project knowledge and leadership.
The program recognizes Members of Excellence across all 4-H livestock project areas, including beef, sheep, meat goat, swine, dairy cattle, dairy goat, rabbit, and poultry.
The program consists of two levels that require 4-H members to plan and report a broad range of age-appropriate and project-related accomplishments. For each level, the Livestock Achievement Program provides a list of accomplishments from which 4-H members choose their goals. Each accomplishment is worth a specific number of points. Intermediates, ages 10-13, must complete 100 points worth of activities to receive the distinction of Intermediate Member of Excellence. Seniors, ages 14-18, must complete 150 points worth of activities to receive the distinction of Senior Member of Excellence.
At the beginning of the 4-H year, youth must apply to participate in the program. Upon acceptance into the program, participants plan what to accomplish. At the end of the 4-H year, they report on their completed accomplishments. Additionally, participants must complete their annual 4-H Online enrollment process, YQCA requirements, and project record books in order to receive a Member of Excellence distinction. https://4h.unl.edu/livestock-achievement-programSpecial Agronomy Project - Broomcorn Sorghum
The Nebraska Extension Special Agronomy Project gives 4-H members an opportunity to experience a crop that is grown, was grown or has the potential to be grown in Nebraska. Youth participate by receiving seed and resources to grow the crop, research traits of the crop and determine the viability of that crop in the part of the state they live. The project allows 4-H members interested in agronomy to grow something fun, new, and different.
In the second year of the special agronomy project, youth will explore broomcorn sorghum. Broomcorn can be used for ornamental uses in floral arrangements or harvested for broom-use prior to seed maturity. Find out more by clicking here!
Also, check out the special garden project, Rubenza Cosmos!
Email or call 402-727-2775 by Friday, January 28 to order your seed for these projects!
Horse Health and Nutrition Courses
Check out these 2 short courses on Horse Health and Horse Nutrition from Extension Foundation. They are available from December 15 to May 15. You can start at any time, and each course has 6 lessons from University and industry experts around the country. At $50 per course, that is less than $10 per lesson! Click here to enroll.
Share with Us
Please post pictures or videos of the projects you are working on to the Dodge County 4-H Facebook group! Some fun examples would be giving us a video tour of your livestock barn, posting time lapse photos of fabric or painting projects, or sharing a recipe and picture of a home cooked meal.
