News from Glacier Peak
October 6, 2021
Dear Glacier Peak Families,
Good Afternoon. I would like to take this time to thank everyone for attending the Glacier Peak Sneak and Carnival last Friday. I loved seeing all of the families participating, playing and smiling. This annual event is always fun for me to see the community come together to celebrate our students. We needed this event more than ever this year to help “Unify and Exemplify” what Glacier Peak is really about. Everyone showed they want what is best for our students and school by surpassing our goal with donations. I am excited to share that with you as we tally every dollar. Our P.T.O., the Peak Partnership, got together last night to set some initial dates for celebration of the amazing participation in our fundraising goals and carnival event. Included in the communication below will be information about classroom goal celebrations, school-wide celebration assembly (Virtual or outside), top fundraiser honor, and the limo day. We also want to celebrate the top three sneak finishers of each grade level.
Speaking of P.T.O., I want you all to know how much work goes on behind the scenes to make the Sneak and Carnival a success. In a regular year, the process starts the spring and summer before the actual event. This year, planning began at the beginning of September and there was a lot of talk that we did not have enough time to make this happen. However, this committed group of families willed this event into existence by working tirelessly around the clock to ensure we had the opportunity to have this carnival. Many of the folks on the team worked right across from my office all of last week to make sure all dinners were ordered, carnival games were ready, money counted, volunteers organized, etc. I want to give a huge shout-out to all members of the P.T.O. team that made this happen. All of these parents do what they do for the benefit of our Grizzlies and our staff and I can’t thank them enough for their passion and dedication. Thank you to these PTO representatives:

2021 Trick or Trunk Event
Trick or Trunk will be on Friday, October 29, 2021, from 6-7 p.m. in the Glacier Peak Parking Lot. We are excited to have our community back for our favorite annual event. For our families who are new to our school, Trick or Trunk is our Halloween celebration. Families are invited to sign up to decorate their cars and distribute candy while our students, in costume, circulate through the parking lot. The Funky Trunky Trophy will be awarded to the best-decorated car in the lot! If you would like to decorate your car and distribute candy, please use the SignUp Genius link to sign up. Since we were unable to gather last year, we are anticipating a large crowd this year. We will need a large amount of candy donated to make this event a success. Students and families who wish to attend must donate at least one bag of candy per ticket needed to enter Trick or Trunk. Every student and younger family member who wishes to trick or treat must have a ticket to enter the event.
**Due to the ever-changing COVID situation, we ask that families please follow protocols regarding social distancing, and illness the best that they can. There is a possibility that the event will be canceled if the District does not allow gatherings. At this time, we are proceeding optimistically and hope to be able to celebrate with our Glacier Peak community.
