SUBSTITUTE TEACHER RECRUITMENT MEETING - JANUARY 4, 2023, 6-7:00 PM, OGS LIBRARY
A substitute teacher is a person who teaches a school class when the regular teacher is absent or unavailable. Becoming a substitute teacher is a great way to make an impact on our students, join a great team of educators, earn extra income of $125 per day, and explore a possible teaching career.

Spotlight: Oakwood Grade School PTO - Thank you!!!
The PTO would like to thank everyone that has volunteered and/or donated this year. With your support, our small group has been able to do a lot for our school and our students. We have helped pay for multiple field trips, purchased classroom supplies, purchased a new buzzer system for the Scholastic Bowl Team, purchased 4 new portable basketball baskets and 30 new basketballs. and new playground equipment for the courtyard. We recently finished with the Santa Shop and brought in Santa for pictures with the kids, snacks and gifts. We will be working on PTO Basketball starting in January, as well as 4th Grade Olympics, the Splash Program (swimming lessons) for 2nd grade and activities/supplies for 100 days of school. Along with these items, the PTO has provided $32K to assist the school district in providing new playground equipment & surface that is shown below. Thank you for helping us have a great first semester. We are looking forward to doing even more in the second semester.
STRATEGIC PLAN
We are continuously exploring and working on the following multi-pronged approach. Focusing on district and athletic facilities. The three areas of focus are:
Land study, with the purpose of identifying what land may be available to Oakwood for building purposes, and also what current assets would be worth if sold.
- Facility study, with the purpose of collecting information regarding district facilities to determine adequacy and feasibility.
Finance study, with the purpose of determining how much money would be necessary for capital project improvements, and how it would be generated and/or financed.
