Learning Sight Words
Ideas for learning sight words, do at least 5 - 7 words mixed with 2-3 words your student knows.
- Make flash cards
- Write in sand or chalk the word
- Bodyspell or air write the word
- Magnetic fridge letters
- Sight word scavenger hunt
- Memory using sight words
- Stamping or Playdoh to make words
- Sight Word Bingo
- Roll and write a sight word
- Using a fly swatter hit the sight word when called
Writing
Writing Ideas
- Keep a Journal or Diary
- Plant a flower or vegetable and Make a plant log/ journal and record daily on a plants growth
- Keep a calendar/ log of the moons phases and/or the time the sun rises/ sets
- Help cook in the kitchen and write down the ingredients used and cooking instructions
- Write a letter to a family member or friend and mail it
- Write a Thank you note to a nurse, doctor, grocery worker, etc. in this time of uncertainty
- Write a book or movie review/ summary and tell why you should/ shouldn't read or watch it
- Make a Birthday card for a family member or friend
- Write a rhyming poem

The student will:
- add and subtract two-digit numbers
- Find 10 more and 10 less than a given three-digit number
- Use mixed coins to make up to a dollar
- Read and write time to quarter hour on analog and digital clock

● Explore the lives of notable Americans who stood up for rights and freedoms
● Recall basic biographical information
Directions and Lesson:
● There is so much to learn about brave people in our country's history! You will have the same choice board for weeks 4 and 5 of our continuous learning.
Each week: - Choose 2 Americans from the first chart. Listen or read about their lives. - Choose 1 task from the second chart to tell about the life of each person you chose. - Discuss the Bonus Question together.
