Updates/Reminders:
March 3rd - Professional Development sessions for the day. If you are unsure where you are suppose to be, please talk with Carla/Eddie.
If you have work that can be done by an I/A during the workday Tuesday, please log it here. We want to ensure that everyone who needs assistance has access to help (please do this even if you have an assigned I/A so we can make sure help is evenly distributed across grade levels).
Statewide Tornado Drill: The statewide tornado drill will be held Wednesday, March 4 at 9:30. Please make sure you know where to go during the drill and that you review with students what they are to do during a drill. Please make sure you remind them 1). Why we have drills and 2) the purpose for our drill position. Beginning with “why” should make the experience more meaningful for everyone. Visit the National Weather Service homepage for more information about Severe Weather Preparedness Week.
Field Trip Reminders:
Please check with Evonne to ensure all chaperones are approved to volunteer before the trip.
Please be in contact with the lunchroom regarding your trip/ lunch options.
It is critical that everyone is back prior to dismissal. Please watch the time and leave in plenty of time to get back before normal school dismissal.
Please make sure chaperones understand expectations for them for the trip. Consider if something in writing for the trip/location may be helpful. Consider including a contact number/how to contact you in case of an emergency and where to meet in case of an emergency.
PTA STEAM Grant Application - PLEASE consider applying!
Classified Staff Evaluation - If you have an IA, please consider walking/talking through a mid year evaluation with them. This will allow you to talk about celebrations/needs prior to the end of the year. If you need help with these conversations, please see Carla/Eddie.
TWCS - From Sandy/Kristen The window for this year's survey is March 2-March 31. Sandy Sistrunk and Kristen Lien will be in the media center on Monday, March 2, from 7:00-7:35 and 2:15-4:15 to distribute codes for the survey and provide assistance if needed. Please let us know if you are unable to pick up your code on Monday so we can make other arrangements! Our previous participation rate is 100% and we want to achieve the same goal this year! We have discussed different incentives, such as doughnuts (once we reach 50%), an hour of NCE time (for completing the survey), lunch (once we reach 100%), etc. Please complete the survey so we can meet our 100% goal!!
CCS Career Fair will be held April 2nd from 4 - 7 at Horton Middle School. If you are willing to earn NCE time and come help us recruit potential employees, please sign up here.
Mark your calendar: On March 20th our school nurses will hold the Mass Vision Screening for 1st, 3rd and 5th grade classes.

Certified staff on comprehensive cycle your next observation is unannounced and a pre-conference isn’t required. We will begin these soon!
Digital Learning Dayz: Thank you to everyone that has already submitted your choice boards and tweeted about your experiences. It’s great to see so many people working towards our 100% participation goal!! If you incorporated technology into any lesson last week, please think about completing one square on a choice board to help NCE reach 100% participation! Complete 3 boxes and earn .3 ceus!! Click HERE to create a copy of your own Triple E Choice Board. All choice boards must be submitted to this folder NCE Digital Learning Dayz Folder by 8 AM March 2nd. On Monday your digital learning team will be choosing the most innovative lesson done by a Jaguar staff member!
CEUs through Frontline: Chatham County has switched over to using Frontline to document and track your ceus. They are currently working to transfer over your ceus from the old system into Frontline. The district is really focusing on completing this transfer process first for teachers who are renewing their licenses this year. If you are not renewing your license this year, don’t be surprised that all of your ceus have not been transferred over into Frontline yet. Use this quick cheat sheet to help you log into Frontline, look up your ceus, ask for prior approval to attend a future out of district PD, or upload certificates from past out of district PDs. This sheet is also linked into the Staff Page on NCE’s website. It is under the “North Chatham’s Quick Links 2019-2020” Section. If after you’ve tried following this document you still need help, see Mandy.
World’s Fair Request: Please review and complete this google form from Sarah Fisher/PTA regarding Teacher Experiences for the World’s Fair/Carnival. Teacher Experiences are always a crowd favorite!
Consider completing a Positive Office Referral this week!
