Health and safety reminders
As you have likely heard, or perhaps experienced as a family, COVID-19 cases have been rising in the community. This increase in cases has been impacting our school communities as well. We continue to appreciate your patience, communication, attention and cooperation with the mitigation measures available to us.
With this in mind, here are some friendly reminders as we head into our break next week:
Please watch closely for symptoms now, during and after the break. Use this screening tool, and stay home from school, activities or holiday gatherings if you are sick. The symptoms of COVID-19 are often mistaken for something else, like allergies or a cold. When rates of transmission are high, watching closely for symptoms and testing become even more important.
The CDC offers these tips and reminders about safer holiday gatherings.
Our community continues to have many free COVID-19 testing options available:
- Walk-in or schedule an appointment at one of the state's COVID-19 community testing sites.
- Order a free at-home test kit.
- Additional testing options: Ramsey County COVID-19 testing
5- to 11-year-olds are now eligible to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Parents and guardians can visit the COVID-19 Vaccine for Children and Teens website to learn more. We also encourage you to consult with your pediatrician if you have questions about whether vaccination is right for your child.
All adults (18 years and older) in Minnesota are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster. Learn more here.
We hope you have a safe and relaxing break next week.
