Writing
One of the many questions I get from parents is "How can I help my child become a better writer?" This is a difficult one for me to answer. We rarely have writing homework, most of our writing is done in school. The more students write, the better they become. Give them lots of opportunities to write. Journaling is one way I like to encourage students to write more at home. Keep a summer journal full of the fun activities your family does. Another great way to get your child writing, is to invite them to write letters to family members or pen pals from a different town. I've also come across some great websites that may be helpful to you. Feel free to check them out.
From the website Kids Learn to Blog: There are a number of student websites your child can use in class as well as home for their assignments and homework. Apart from allowing students to use them, most of these sites allow students to interact with others further enhancing their writing experience.
