EIM training

Ethics and Integrity Ministry (EIM) In an effort to protect our children, the Diocese of Austin mandates that all individuals who have contact with our children must be in compliance with the Ethics and Integrity in Ministry Policy, which equips each of us with the tools and knowledge to protect our children from possible abuse and perpetrators. All parents MUST complete this process to volunteer at the school.

Registration is required through the Diocesan. In order to register for an EIM Workshop, you must first complete the volunteer application, “eAppsDB”. Once you have attended the workshop please submit a copy of the certificate to the school office. This workshop is for new parents and those who are in need of the refresher course.

Letter from the Superintendent of Catholic Schools:

Dear Parents,

We are all angry and saddened to learn of the recent news regarding the sex abuse report from Pennsylvania and the situation with Archbishop Theodore McCarrick. It is terrible that we have to hear such stories. We all desire a Church and community free of sin.

Catholic education is founded on the premise that the formation of children in the faith can change the world. Our students are being prepared for a world that has never needed them more. As parents and guardians, you send your children to Catholic schools as an expression of your values and your faith. The safety of your child is our highest priority. Our Catholic schools have taken several steps to ensure the safety of your child.

It is clear to me that the Holy Spirit was working with us this summer as we developed our theme for the school year: Messengers of Hope. Those messengers are our teachers, parents, students, volunteers and parishioners who use their God-given gifts to promote Catholic virtues, especially “hope.” Thank you for your dedication to Catholic education and for giving hope to the future through your child.

If you or someone you know is a victim of sexual abuse by a member of the clergy, faculty, staff or volunteer, you are urged to report it local law enforcement and the Diocese of Austin.

Join us as we continue to pray for victims of abuse, the faithful and for the clergy who live out their promises as holy priests.

Blessings,

Misty Poe

Superintendent
