What can we do to help?
Prevention
The EPA created the Indoor airPLUS Program which helps improve indoor air quality and efficiency. The American Lung Association said to prevent ways of adding pollutants to the air and also having the right ventilation with clean and fresh air.
Affecting Health
Common Pollutants can cause many allergic reactions, like sneezing, watery eyes, coughing, shortness of breath, dizziness, lethargy, fever, and digestive problems. Some of the pollutants can cause measles, chickenpox, and the flu. There are many other things that can happen to your health due to indoor air pollution but the main one it effects is asthma.
State, National, and Global Issues
People use wood, dung, and crop residue to heat their stoves, but these sources of energy are the most polluting on earth and they do not have a lot of energy so you have to us more which creates more pollution. Students with diseases caused by indoor air pollution miss more than 14 million days of school.
Adovcate
We often do not think about indoor pollution but it is a big issue. It can cause immediate and long term health problems. So we need to keep air air cleaner and raise awareness for it because it is often over looked by families.
Health Status
Health effects can arrive soon after or even years later. They can also occur after a long repetitive time of exposure which can lower your life expectancy due to the diseases it can cause
