Bobcat Families, We did it! What a fun week celebrating milestones and accomplishments of our students. It is amazing to watch the growth and confidence that has been gained throughout this school year. It is a team effort and we couldn't do it without your support. We are fortunate to live in a community that puts our children first. They get to learn, play and grow in such a special little town. Simpsonville truly is a special place. The FRC Newsletter will be sent out every other week during the summer break but please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. We are always here to help! I hope each of you takes time to relax and enjoy time with family and friends this summer. Have a safe and restful break.

Simpsonville Elementary Family Resource Center
Simpsonville Family Resource Advisory Council Meeting are held typically bi-monthly. If you would like an invitation please email me at angela.oakley@shelby.kyschools.us
The Family Resource Coordinator (FRC) program is built on the foundation of collaboration. A guiding principle in the development of the FRC program is to be community focused – we are to collaborate with other entities in order to effectively serve the needs of our students and their families. The Advisory Council is made up of Parents, Teachers and Community Members!
Our Family Resource Center and its Advisory Council are the key to assuring that collaborative community input and involvement occurs in the planning, implementation and oversight of the FRC activities. The FRC Advisory Council helps the FRC to accomplish its mission:
The Council…
- Provides a broad base of support
- Creates two-way communication between the Coordinator and the community
- Establishes rapport in the community for the Coordinator
- Enables the Coordinator to evaluate ongoing programs
- Makes the FRC community–centered rather than coordinator or school-centered
- Aids in planning and filling programs
- Keeps groups and clubs informed
- Uncovers potential problems within the community
- Unites the community behind a project
- Stimulates organizations to serve people more efficiently
