Friday Thoughts On a Monday
February 25, 2019
Friends Helping Friends
As many of you may or may not know, Paula Young (principal HES) and Courtney Snipes (teacher at CHES) have experienced tremendous water damage in their homes.
(Forgive me if I do not know of others)
We need to come together and support our colleagues and friends.
As soon as we return, let’s start a fund for our friends.
Send your monies to your school secretary, she will forward everything to Mr. Brumley.
This is a serious hardship. An estimate for clean up from Servpro is $9,000....wow!!
We help and support every cause in the Shoals as a district....let’s help our very own!!
Please, please, please...

Special thanks to our political delegation for pleading our case to Dr. Mackey and Governor Ivey. Rep. Jamie Kiel.....if you see him, please give him a BIG thank you!!
I can not thank you enough. #teamcolbertcounty #shoalsstrong
Did you know?
Mrs. Gladys McNatt, CNP manager at New Bethel Elementary. Did you know that Mrs. Gladys has worked for our school district for nearly 50 years. As superintendent, I love visiting with Mrs. Gladys. She makes everyone feel at home in the kitchen.
Thank you, Mrs. McNatt....you’re the best!!

Grading Policy Reminder
It is important to remember that board policy states that graded assignments should be entered into the grade book and returned to students within 5 days of the assignment. Also, 6 grades per 9 weeks are required in each subject.
Please stay occur with your grades..... parents are more active and they want to see current grades. Thank you for our help in this next level of communication!!
Attendance - -Everyday is a day of Learning!!
Please continue to encourage attendance of all students everyday. I assure you that Ms. Cagle is doing all she can to get them here. When you consider the State School Report Card, nothing is more important than attendance. Yes, chronic absenteeism only counts for 15% of our score, but absenteeism is likely the largest factor in academic growth and achievement.
- Miss Cagle has been scheduling and holding early warning attendance meetings at all the schools to start off this semester as quickly as possible. If there is a student concern with excessive absences, check-ins, or check-outs, please let her know.

If you were recommended for additional Google Level Certification, please do not hesitate to speak with your principal regarding next steps.
