What is Nidra Nap Meditation or iRest® Yoga Nidra?
The term Nidra Naps came from Heather telling her friends the reason she didn't answer the phone, couldn't hang out or was going home was due to taking a Nidra Nap. Her personal practice of iRest® Yoga Nidra was then on referred as, Nidra Napping.
*iRest® Yoga Nidra meditation is done laying down in Savasana. A progressive approach to an ancient practice that was adapted by Richard Miller (Heather's teacher) and Integrative Restoration Institute.
Nidra means sleep. You have permission to sleep through meditation and you'll still getting its benefits. It doesn't get any easier or awesome than this.

Take a Nap, Change the World
She discovered there were the common words: "Tired", "I didn't sleep last night.", "Restless", and, "Where's the melatonin?". Time and time again people felt that this was just normal and in some cases, have given up hope that sleep actually happened. Heather resonated with this, as she too understood this all too well.
For years Heather struggled with sleep. There were still countless mornings when she woke up saying, "I didn't sleep last night. I just dreamt all night.". Heather created this belief that because she was dreaming, she wasn't sleeping and therefore, always woke up exhausted. But, "Duh, Heather. Dreaming is a part of the sleep state. You were sleeping."
She began to notice that her sleep pattern changed when she practised Restorative Yoga. Her body felt more chilled out. But, the epic shift and understanding started when she began practising Yoga Nidra meditation (a.k.a Sleep Yoga). She became aware that she created that the belief of, "dreaming not sleeping, and thus being exhausted." That this very statement was preventing her from having a restful sleep. Using the practise of Yoga Nidra, Heather learnt how to work and shift this belief. It had huge results. Better and more rested sleep, more meaningful relationships and it empowered her to start living her dreams.
After many hours of teaching Yoga Nidra she noticed people eased into the practice when they brought their own blankets, pillows and once a stuffed animal. There was this essence of comfort. So, Heather began wondering, "what would happen if people practiced in the comfort of their pyjamas? How could the lives of others change if she combined Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra Meditation with wearing comfy pyjamas?"
And then this series was born.
Heather truly believes that by taking a Nidra Nap one can shift one's inner world and make a huge positive impact in one's life and therefore on others. (She's living proof.) That taking a Nidra Nap can change the world for the better.
This is where you come in.
Are you ready to take a nap and change the world?
