Parents,
Thank you for supporting our fall PTO fundraiser! We raised over $20,000! The House Color Run was a huge success! We are so thankful for your support! I hope you enjoy the photos below. I LOVE the joy and excitement that is clearly visible on the faces of the children! Congratulations to the Rowling House for raising the most money, the PTO will provide a donut party as part of our House Meeting on Friday. We will have alternate choices for students with allergies.
Join me in welcoming our newest RHES staff members, both are serving in our cafe to assist and supervise the children during lunch. Elizabeth Boyko and Melanie Daly. We are pleased to have them as part of our team!
Sincerely,
Andrew Davis - Principal

FALL RUN RUN: Tuesday, October 18th from 2:45-3:30
The Fall Fun Run is Tuesday, October 18th from 2:45-3:30.We need volunteers to put a stamp on each runner for each lap they complete. We're going to try to copy the color run format. Students will begin at their color house flag. Students will receive one colored mark on their hand for each lap they complete. After 3 laps = 3 stamps = 1/2 mile the K-2 will be finished with their race. After 6 laps/stamps = 1 mile the 3-5 runners will complete their race. We need volunteers to help stamp at the different colored house stations. You can volunteer to be at your child's colored house so you can be there and stamp them as they pass the flags for each lap. Thank you all for helping us out. Here is the link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C48ABA72BAAFB6-fall
Unity Day 10/19 - Wear Your Orange!
Wednesday October 19th is Unity Day. Communities across our country wear orange to stand up against bullying behaviors and promote kindness.
Second Stop Bully Prevention Home Links
Over the past two weeks, our School Counselors, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Blair, have been teaching about how to recognize bullying behaviors. We define bullying behaviors as one-sided, repetitive, mean on purpose behaviors that take away one’s power. Please click on the corresponding grade level to learn more about the lesson that was taught.
The Imagination Library - Free books each month for children 5 and under!!
Round Hill Bears,
Have you ever heard of The Imagination Library?
This non-profit program started by Dolly Parton in 1995 has gifted over 161 million books, been recognized by The Library of Congress, and has brought immeasurable joy to recipients, providing high quality, curated books monthly to all children regardless of socioeconomic status from birth to age 5. A local chapter, Roots Grow Wings, was recently started, and now serves all of Western Loudoun! All children 5 and under can enroll now. When you enroll your children or grandchildren, you will receive a free, age appropriate, book for each child enrolled every month until the age of 5. It’s such an amazing program, and it may sound too good to be true, but I promise it’s not. There is no fine print, just sign them up.
Currently we have enrolled over 600 children from birth to age 5 and have gifted over 7000 books since we launched in April 2021! We would love to see that number continue to grow!
