Lorenzo Walker Technical High School Mission "Purpose" Statement
Parent Involvement
Many things have changes in education, but one area of enduring importance remains parental / guardian involvement. Ongoing research shows that family engagement in schools improves student achievement and reduces absenteeism. Students with involved parents or other caregivers earn higher grades and test scores, have better social skills, and show improved behavior.
It is important for all stakeholders to know how to access live grades through Focus. Accessing and using your children's academic scores to ensure they're on track through Focus can help encourage your students success. The following link provides you with instructions for how to access the Parent Portal that has Focus and many other resources embedded within: http://www.collierschools.com/Page/8857

The Marine Service Technology Program gives students the opportunity to be introduced to the mechanical and technical aspects of the boating world. Students can join the program truly knowing nothing about boating, electrical systems or the internal combustion engine. The introduction begins with the basics of the systems involved with all aspects of the boat and moving into the troubleshooting and repair of these same systems.
“When I was able to do the shadowing, it clicked. It seemed this program was where I was supposed to be. I’ve learned a lot, even though I didn’t have the prior knowledge” stated Amber Nico, junior.
Picture below are Joel Jones and Amber Nico, both junior's, working on an engine block in class.
