Students Together Achieving Results
Principal's Message
While our students were off on Monday our teachers presented and participated in our own "EdCamp" professional development. We have so many wonderful teachers here and they had so much to share and learn from one another. Before we started our day we announced our Teacher and Humanitarian of the Year winners, along with our "Rising Star" award winner. Mrs. Lauren Hartman-St. Lawrence won our Teacher of the Year while Ms. Nina Norman-Goffney won our Humanitarian of the Year. Ms. Sheri Nuon received the 2018-2019 Rising Star Award. All of these winners were surprised by the families after breakfast!
Last weekend Ms. Reagan Hinze placed 3rd at the State Diving & Swim Meet in Austin! Congratulations, Reagan! Next year Reagan will be diving at the University of Nebraska! Also, last weekend two of our very own 9th graders placed 7th out of 230 entries in a Texas High School Bass Association Lake Livingston tournament! Congratulations Cade and Clayton!
This week our counselor, Mrs. Rivera, was able to take our students in our STAR program to the Memorial Hermann TIRR Rehabilitation Center where they were able to speak with a panel of professionals as well as see many aspects of the medical industry. This was great opportunity and experience for our students!
This week another "Lunch and Learn" was held at the Main campus. If you were not able to attend, I have attached the recorded presentation below. The live feed video was recorded by the CHS KTIG News Team. Fast-forward to 11:18 to begin watching the video.
Good luck to all of our students participating in tomorrow's VASE competition in College Station and the Regional Science and Engineering Fair in Houston! These students have put a lot of hard work into these projects and we wish them all the best!
With only 2 more weeks until Spring Break please continue to make sure your student takes advantage of tutorials. Click the tutorials link in this newsletter to answer any questions and/or contact their teachers. And as always make sure to watch the weekly TNN news to keep updated to campus events and activities. Click the TNN link in this newsletter to watch. TNN's new goal is to deliver student news in 9 minutes or less!
It is an honor to be your child's principal so please continue let me know if their is anything we can improve or do to assist our students in reaching their full potential! Use the "Suggestions box" on our website or just call or send me an email.
I hope you all have a peaceful and restful weekend!
Bryan Gorka
