This year’s YouthTruth Survey is available today. This is an anonymous survey that gives parents and guardians the opportunity to provide feedback for their child’s school in areas like culture, engagement, relationships, communication and feedback, school safety, and resources. The survey is open through November 18th. You will be given an opportunity to complete the survey at your student’s school during Parent Teacher Conferences. If you would like to complete the survey prior to then, please click on the following button. Students will be completing their own survey during class time. If you would like your student to be opted out of the student survey, or if you have any questions regarding the student survey questions, please contact your school site.

There has been an increase in fentanyl related cases in San Bernardino County over the last year. Recently, “rainbow” fentanyl has been found in California and throughout the U.S. This is a potentially fatal drug found in pills and powders in a variety of bright colors, shapes, and sizes. You can follow these tips from the California Department of Public Health to start a conversation with your student about the dangers of drugs:

• Pick a neutral time with no distractions.

• Be open and calm.

• Be prepared and focus on the conversation.

• Give teens the scientific facts and explain the reality and risks of using drugs.

• Educate teens on naloxone, including how to use it and where to get it.

• Express your love and care.
