September Distinguished Dragons

2022

Be Responsible – Be Respectful – Be Kind – Be Honest – Be Determined – Be Courageous – Be Joyful – Be Enthusiastic – Be Creative

Dear Dalton Families,

It is our pleasure to announce the Distinguished Dalton Dragons for September 2022. Every month, teachers at each grade level and staff from a special program select a student for demonstrated traits exemplifying what we find important at Dalton Elementary School. School-wide recognition is made and certificates created to commemorate their positive contribution to our campus. As a gesture of thanks, these selected students will receive pizza, gelato, and special recognition for their efforts. One primary and one intermediate winner will receive a free Triple Play Water Park Pass!

With appreciation,

Jody Hiltenbrand, Principal

Becky Miller, Assistant Principal

Kindergarten:

I am thrilled to announce Tatum Turnbull as the first Kindergarten Student of the Month for this school year! Since the first day of school, Tatum has brought a calming and positive energy to our classroom. She is thoughtful and kind, focused and attentive, compassionate and encouraging. Tatum works hard at every task she receives and is motivated by new challenges. She cares deeply for others and is always willing to help those around her. She always has a smile on her face and truly lights up room 114 with her tender heart and enthusiasm! It is amazing to see such a young learner accomplish such big things so early on in the year. I am so proud of you, Tatum!

First Grade:

It is my pleasure to nominate Mason Gallagher as the First Grade Student of the Month for September. He has begun first grade with enthusiasm! He came ready to learn, participate, and be a team player on day one. He is ready for each activity, follows directions with a wonderful attitude, and demonstrates a diligent work ethic. Mason is always willing to help anyone in the classroom. Our class is lucky to have such an eager learner, kind classmate, and strong leader. Congratulations and thank you, Mason!

Second Grade:

It is my pleasure to announce Ruby Frank as our first Student of the Month for Grade 2 for the 2022-2023 school year. Ruby is sweet and thoughtful! She helps her classmates and works hard to do her best on every assignment, every day. Ruby has embraced our second grade motto, “Work hard and be nice!” She is a shining example of hard work and kindness to her classmates and teachers. Thank you for being an awesome Dalton Dragon, Ruby!

Love,

Ms. Meade

Third Grade:

I’m excited to announce Ashlyn Banks as the Third Grade Student of the Month for September 2022. I haven’t gotten to know Ashlyn very well in our few short weeks together, however, she stood out to me on day one. Ashlyn is the perfect definition of what a successful student should be. She is a great listener. She is respectful, responsible, and attentive in class. Ashlyn is willing to take risks and share out in class. She is thoughtful and kind to her peers. Her quality of work is excellent and turned in on time every time. I’m looking forward to getting to know Ashlyn better throughout this year. Thank you for brightening my day, Ashlyn! Congratulations!

~ Mrs. Siegford

Fourth Grade:

“We take care of ourselves. We take care of each other. We take care of this place.”

These are the norms in room 105. Evangeline "Eve" Child does these things each and every day. Eve takes care of herself by being in charge of her learning and asking clarifying questions, even if it’s the teacher who has made a mistake. She takes care of her classmates by setting an example of what to do and how to do it. She takes care of this place by always doing the right thing, even when no one is looking. It is a pleasure being Eve’s teacher.

Thank you, Eve! You are Grade 4's Student of the Month for September!

~ Mrs. Woodall

Fifth Grade:

It is an honor to present Colton Clevenger as the Fifth Grade Student of the Month for September. In the first few weeks of fifth grade, Colton has been a superstar student. He has shown respect to his teachers. He has been teachable and diligent, striving to do well. Colton has put in full effort in all his tasks. He has never given up, persevering through every task presented to him. With a start like this, Colton is bound to have an amazing fifth grade year! Congratulations, Colton! Keep up the strong work!
