A Note from Mrs. Smith, Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

What an amazing 1st Annual Character Dress Up Parade with YOU here to see it ALL! I am beaming with happiness after seeing all of you making memories with your children.

Please know it is so important to us that YOU are here to see all the amazing things going on at Glen Loch. Continue signing up to eat lunch with your child! We love seeing our parents in the building. Consider volunteering to be a Gator Dad or volunteer to help with all things our wonderful PTO does throughout the year. Which leads me to talk about our First EVER Trunk or Treat that will happen TOMORROW! Come out for lots of fun from 3-6 pm Saturday, October 28th.

We still need your help! We have had 143 tardies since Monday of this week. When you are tardy, your student is missing valuable learning time and also possibly disrupting the teacher and/or class during their instructional time. Our school building opens at 7:30 a.m. and often times has a steady flow of cars or no line at all until 7:50 a.m.. Students should be INSIDE the school by the time the tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m.. If the bell rings while you are still in line, you will need to park and escort your student(s) in the school to sign them in tardy.

Admin will be reaching out to parents whose students have excessive tardies and absences to see how we can better assist you in getting your student to school and on time.

Growing Better Together,

Kris Smith

Principal

Morning Car Line

Our morning car line begins at 7:30 a.m. and school starts at 8:00 a.m.

Each morning we have parent volunteers open car doors for our Gators. We try to have 6 adults outside, but there are times we don't have 6. If you arrive to Glen Loch and no one is at the cone number to open your car door, please know your child can get out of the car without assistance and walk into school. This will also help the flow of the car line. If your child needs assistance, please pull up to a spot where an adult is located. We will gladly assist your child.

Thank you to each and every one of you who have or still volunteer to open car doors each morning. Also, please consider volunteering for our morning car line.

Community Events

Safety

Providing a safe learning environment is at the forefront of everyone’s mind. In addition to the many measures already in place such as secure vestibules and security cameras, you will notice some enhancements with the day-to-day operations. All doors are required to be locked at all times. During times when students are changing classes or when large events are scheduled, doors will be actively monitored by staff. All staff and visitors must wear a visible badge at all times, with visitors’ badges including a time and date stamp. Safety is our ultimate responsibility and takes all of us working together.
