Dear Beveridge Cougars Families,

Happy New Years!!! We hope during your 2 weeks off it was filled with having fun and celebrating your holiday traditions. Before our winter break, our staff and students had fun at school getting into the holiday spirit. Members of the community shared the holiday spirit with us as well by giving all of our scholars gifts. We ended the 2022 year with our amazing scholars showcasing their vocal talents at our "Cougars Christmas Caroling" program.

We have finished the second grading period strong. Please note that second quarter report cards will be available after break on January 6 in the Skyward Parent Portal. I know many parents look at grades weekly and already know their child's grades, but I would encourage you to look at them quarterly to read the comments added by the teachers.

As we enter 2023, let us renew our commitment to the education of our children and ensure that they are fully supported to end the 2022-2023 academic year with much success. Now is the time to recalibrate our efforts and forge ahead to build a stronger community, constructing a great school year, a brighter future and a better tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Beveridge Elementary Administrative Team

Lost -N-Found

We had frigid temperatures in the month of December. We do expect to experience more of this type of weather during the winter months. Our lost and found is overfilled with winter coats, hats, and gloves. If your child is missing any of their winter items, you may contact the main office to schedule an appointment to search our lost and found storage container.

Why Attendance Matters

School attendance matters because many opportunities for learning are missed. Make-up work does not replace the instruction in a day at school. The problem with make-up work is that it does not provide the direct instruction, the guided practice, and the in depth discussions that help students learn. The school day is hard to replace or recreate as so much learning happens real time in the classroom. Our goal is that every student is at school every day. However, we do realize that this just isn't possible. We certainly do not want students coming to school sick, as that is not good for the child or the other students. We also understand that there are certain family matters that require absences as well. But we hope you will work with us and make sure if your child is not sick, he/she will be at school.

School Dismissal App

Our school is using DashPass for student dismissal. This secured, automated mobile platform helps to optimize the student pickup experience for parents and school staff. Currently, less than 40% of our families have joined the school's platform. Our goal is 100% of our families to join. We are asking all families to download and login. Make sure to complete your download and login process before January 6th. More information about DashPass is below :

Character Counts!

Every month our school focus on a character trait as a part of our PBIS initiative. PBIS creates and maintains a safe and effective learning environment. It ensures all students have social skills needed for success at school and beyond. It provides a proactive system-wide framework for implementation. The purpose is to establish a climate in which appropriate behavior is the norm.

December's PBIS focus will be cooperation.
