Our Reading Challenge has Begun!
Reading is a passion we want students to continue to love as they move into their adult lives.
For the fall, we are asking every Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd-grade student to challenge themselves to read at least 20 books and 3rd, 4th, and 5th-graders to challenge themselves to read at least 10 novels!
Take a photo and share on social media using the hashtag #HarmonyReads. We look forward to seeing your photos of the reading challenge!

The Austin Public Health will be hosting a Resource Fair. They will be distributing bags with information on resources for the Dove Springs area, merchandise, as well as some gifts and masks. Impact Now Dove Springs will also be running a food drive at the same time and place.

Parent Academy: Reading Strategies and Resources for our HSI Families!
Join us for our next Parent Academy on Thursday, October 22nd at 5:30 PM! We will have our Curriculum Coach Mrs. Ozarowski share our different strategies and resources for HSI! Youth Program Specialists from Austin Public Library will also be present to speak on the resources they are able to provide as well as their book catalog for digital resources!
Zoom link will be shared on the day of the event in our Class Dojo school announcements.
Red Ribbon Week: Be Happy. Be Brave. Be Drug Free
This year's Red Ribbon Week theme will help amplify the mission to encourage children, families, and communities to live healthy, happy, and drug-free lives! It also serves as a reminder that we are all empowered with shaping the communities around us through positivity, bravery, and strength.
HSI will be celebrating Red Ribbon week during Monday, October 26th - Friday, October 30th.

Home visitations by teachers get parents involved in their child's education, and let parents and children know how much teachers care! They are a vital part of building relationships between families and school staff.
Teachers will visit with their students and parents/guardians through Zoom to get to know each other and share information about upcoming events for our campus.
To request a 30 minute Home-Visit, complete this form with at least 3 optional dates that may work for you and your family and we will confirm a date and time to meet. (You can also schedule directly with your child's teacher)

NEW FOOD DISTRIBUTION SCHEDULE AND POLICIES
Dear Parents/Guardians,
During the school closure last spring and over the summer months, Harmony offered meals to all children ages 18 and under in the community. Meals were distributed at select schools at no charge.
HSI will distribute meals on Monday (for Monday & Tuesday) and Wednesday (for Wednesday, Thursday & Friday) between 10:00am and 11:00am.
Meals will only be provided to students who are enrolled at that school and ID is needed if students are not in the car. If you have children enrolled in multiple Harmony schools, you will need to visit each campus to pick up meals. For every day in the distribution cycle, your child may choose which days they would like a breakfast and/or lunch meal. A choice of milk is available, but they are not required to take it. If your child has special dietary needs, visit the school website to download the Special Dietary Accommodations form and have it completed and signed by a licensed medical authority.
NUEVO PROGRAMA Y REGLAS DE DISTRIBUCIÓN DE ALIMENTOS
Durante el cierre de la escuela la primavera pasada y durante los meses de verano, Harmony ofreció comidas a todos los niños menores de 18 años en la comunidad. Las comidas se distribuyeron en escuelas selectas sin cargo.

FREE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
Austin Public Health, CommUnityCare, and Central Health are hosting a series of free personal protective equipment (PPE) distributions over the next several weeks in areas with high COVID-19 positivity rates based on testing data.
The distributions will provide hand sanitizer, masks, and educational materials.
