COVID 19
As we are made aware daily of the presence of Covid, I wanted to thank our staff, our students, our parents and our community for doing their part in monitoring Covid symptoms. Here at Furr, we will continue to social distance as much as possible, wash hands frequently, use hand sanitizer, clean surfaces frequently and encourage all to wear a face covering. Thank you parents and staff for your support in this effort to keep ALL OF US SAFE! If your child has any symptoms of Covid, please fill the district screener out. Our nurse will get back with you as soon as she can.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
MORNING ARRIVAL:
Parents, once you have entered into our Furr driveway, please have your student(s) exit your car. Please do not wait until you get close to our front door, for this slows our car line. My goal is to make sure ALL students are in their seat by 7:40 AM and by ALL students getting out of their car, this will help tremendously. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT WITH THIS.
LUNCH:
Parents, at this time we will not be needing a sign up sheet. Our parents are welcome to eat with their student and will need to check in with the front office. In the event our Covid numbers start to rise, we will reconsider all procedures, including the lunch signup. Thank you for your understanding.
Lunch Times:
Kinder 10:25-10:55
1st 10:55-11:25
2nd 11:25-11:55
3rd 11:55-12:25
4th 12:25-12:55
5th 12:55-1:25
BAD WEATHER:
This is a reminder that if there is a possibility of bad weather that could result in the delay of the start of school or closing school, we will use CONNECT ED to notify you. You will receive an e-mail, phone call, and text message notifying you of the delay or closing. In addition, the information will be posted on all PISD social media outlets. Moreover, the local television stations will receive notice as well. Therefore, there is no need to call your child’s campus to see if we are having school. If you do not receive any notification, we will be having school and starting at the regularly scheduled time. For this reason, it is important to make sure that your school has the most up-to-date and accurate contact information.
We have an incredibly busy week ahead of us so thank you in advance for your patience and grace! Thank you all for your support and sharing your kids with us! Thank you for entrusting us with your children so that we can make the world a better place. It starts with us...Be Kind!
Respectfully,
Cindy Zukowski

ATTENDANCE & ABSENCES:
If my child is absent, what should I do?
- Parents should notify the school the morning their child will be absent. Beginning in the 2021-22 school year, all absence notifications and notes will be submitted electronically. Parents will notify the campus of a student’s absence through Skyward Family Access. This will replace calling or emailing the campus attendance clerk to notify the school of the student’s absence. Additionally, this electronic documentation satisfies the signed parent note requirement (state required documentation). When an absence request is submitted through Skyward Family Access, the attendance clerk/registrar will be notified by email.
- When a student returns from an absence at a doctor's office: When a student returns from an absence at a doctor's office, a signed doctor’s note displaying the date on which the student was seen in the office must be sent to the school attendance email within 2 days of the absence. The parent indication that the student was at the doctor will not qualify as a doctor's note. Please go to your child's campus page and choose Attendance under the parents tab to submit a doctor's note.
- FURR ATTENDANCE Link
- Parents will be allowed to electronically submit (through Skyward Family Access) a total of only 5 absence notes during the school year. Please go to your Furr's campus page and choose Attendance under the parents tab to submit for an absence. Once you have exceeded this maximum, all absences will be considered unexcused. A list of acceptable absences (those that will be excused) are listed in the Student Handbook.
- If a student is absent for more than 5 consecutive days due to illness, a parent note will not be accepted. A statement from a doctor or medical clinic explaining the reason for the absence must be submitted to the school attendance email upon their return to school. Please go to your child's campus page and choose Attendance under the parents tab to submit a doctor's note.
- If your child leaves during the day for a doctor or dentist appointment, a doctor’s note must be submitted electronically to the school attendance email on the same day or the next morning in order for the absence(s) to be considered “medical”. Please go to your child's campus page and choose Attendance under the parents tab to submit a doctor's note.
