Husky Tracks

Principal's Message
Pep assemblies are some of the best days of the year! We had a blast this afternoon celebrating our students - Science Olympiad, Robotics, Wrestling, Football, Cross Country, Girls Basketball, the Musical Newsies, Dance Team, Cheer, Band and Choir. PRT students are the best! We also celebrated our super successful building fundraiser. Again, a huge thank you to all of our families who donated to the Husky Fund. We are excited about all of the things we can support for our staff and students!
One quick note about Monday - in middle school, we do not dress up for Halloween. Instead, we had an extremely fun spirit week this week!
Have a wonderful weekend!

8th Grade Guest Speaker
If you would prefer to opt your student out of this presentation, please email Mrs. Jones at jkjones@olatheschools.org by 3:30pm on Thursday, November 3.
Car Riders - Reminders
We ask that you do not:
Drop students off at CBAC and have them cross 107th street
Drop students off on 107th Street at the entrance to the front circle drive
Drop students off on Lone Elm and U-turn on the street
Turn right into the car line
Drivers who do not follow the car line configuration are putting our students that walk and ride their bikes in danger. The city and the Olathe Police Department are aware of these concerns as there was a student on a bike nearly hit recently. I've been an administrator in our community for seven years now and in those seven years, I've had two students hit by a car on Lone Elm. For the safety of our students, please spend the extra five minutes looping around and dropping off in the car line. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

There will be a prize of donuts for the WAG class that brings in the most items. We will take all nonperishable food but especially need peanut butter, canned meats, beans, pasta, rice, canned pasta (ravioli etc.), canned fruits and vegetables and cereal. Thanks so much for your support in helping out those in need.

8th Grade Career Expo
We are happy to share that your student has the opportunity to participate in a Career Expo on Wednesday, November 2nd at Johnson County Community College. This is our 22nd year hosting this event with local professionals from a variety of fields, and it is always a highlight for our students! After learning about how individual interests can translate into a future career, students are able to meet professionals in fields of interest to learn more about future possibilities and how to set themselves up for success. If you would prefer your child not attend the Career Expo on November 2nd, please contact Katie Vena (kavena@olatheschools.org) by Tuesday, November 1st. We will be taking busses through our district provided transportation company, DS Bus Lines. Our time to attend this event is from 11:55am-12:55pm. Thank you, in advance, for your support.
Sincerely,
Jenna Jones, Katie Vena, Ariel Brown
If you have not already signed the District Transportation Consent Form, please follow the attached directions.
