Notes on the Flu
Learners with symptoms of the flu and illness must stay at home and cannot return to school until they no longer have fever of 100 degrees or higher (without the use of fever reducing medications), diarrhea, or vomiting for at least 24 hours.
If your learner is experiencing a fever (100 degrees or higher) and cough or sore throat, please call the front office. We share this count with Dallas County.
Utilize good hand washing skills, cough into your sleeve or elbow, and avoid touching your face.
Let's keep New Tech Healthy and limit the spread of germs!

Leadership Opportunity
Do you know a high school student who is passionate about emergency preparedness and community resilience? If so, they should apply to be on the Texas Youth Preparedness Council!
The Texas Youth Preparedness Council is a statewide youth group made up of youth leaders from across the state who are interested in preparedness and making their communities more resilient. The mission of the council is to engage and empower youth in individual and community preparedness activities and roles. The council provides an opportunity for Texas high school students to enhance their knowledge of preparedness and develop leadership skills that will help them in addressing the needs of their communities. Youth will work on local preparedness projects, be ambassadors for youth preparedness on the state level, and provide a unique perspective to state agencies interested in preparedness.
Those interested in applying to be on the council should visit the Texas Youth Preparedness Council webpage for more information and download the application. Applications are due by March 31, 2020.
Please let Batik know if you decide to apply!
