Transitional Classrooms
In Mrs. Parker's classroom, students are focusing on counting to 120! Students worked as a team to write out numbers through 120 on their white board. In reading, students are focusing on their individual letter and sight words of the week through the Orton Gillingham Multisensory reading program. Students are excelling using this amazing program and Mrs. Parker is so proud of their hard work.
Art at Walsh!
Greetings from the art room! My name is Mrs. Dworak, and I have been having so much fun getting to know all the Walker artists!
We have been working with paint, markers, chalk, glue, and cut paper to create beautiful artwork! I intend for students to learn how to use their creativity and be independent thinkers and workers. Students learn about art history, world history, and art history throughout the year. I hope you enjoy seeing the artwork and find something to hang in your family gallery!
Grade 3 & 4 Highlight:
Third graders just finished a chalk tiger drawing and are now working on a Kinte cloth weaving in honor of Black History Month.
Fourth graders completed a mixed-media drawing of a panda using shading and are now learning about George Rodrigue, a New Orleans artist, and how to mix tints and shades.
