World Kindness Day

HISTORY OF WORLD KINDNESS DAY

World Kindness Day is celebrated on November 13th every year in many countries throughout the world. Some countries that celebrate this day are Canada, Japan, Australia, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Italy, and India. This day was first observed in 1997 when a humanitarian group called the World Kindness Movement came together and made a declaration of kindness. Members of this group came from over 25 different countries. They tried to inspire people to be more kind, think more about others and less about themselves. Kindness can be shared with small gestures like picking up someones mess, or cleaning up someones area, or even a hug. On this day people are encouraged "to overlook boundaries, race, and religion."

WORLD KINDNESS DAY FOR ALL

I think that World Kindness Day should become a holiday because kindness makes everyone feel better. If you are having a bad day or feeling down, when someone does something unexpected for you, it makes you feel better.

The world needs more kindness. Everyday on the news we hear about all the terrible things that are happening in the world. Violence, anger, hatred are everywhere. It would be nice to have a day that is about all the good things that people do for eachother. To have a day filled with kindness would be a day focussed on love, caring, friendship and joy.

Kindness makes everyone feel better. When you do something nice for someone else it makes them happy and it makes you feel better too. Kindness is something that does not cost anything to give. It could be as holding a door for someone or a smiling at someone who looks like they are having a bad day. It is a day when you think about others more than you think about yourself.

Everyone should experience kindness on a daily basis. World Kindness Day would give people an example of what to strive for everyday. It would help everyone understand the positive effect that kindness has in the world. Some people have never experienced kindness, but on this day they would. The thing about kindness is it often spreads. One act of kindness can inspire someone else to do the same. On this day the world would be a better place. #WORLDKINDNESSDAYFORALL #BETHEGOOD
