Official Last Day of School - June 7
Winter is lingering, and the chance of weather-related school cancellations continues to be a possibility. The current number of accumulated school hours allows us the flexibility to absorb up to three more days of cancelled school without scheduling a make up day (Iowa law requires 1080 hours a year).
If there is a fourth cancellation, the make up day will be Good Friday, April 19.
Regardless of whether we have any more school cancellations, classes will be in session through June 7.
Influenza
We have experienced a large number of Influenza symptoms at Lincoln School. The first symptoms are a cough and/or a fever. The Pella Emergency Department is recommending keeping students diagnosed with Influenza home 48 hours fever free (without medication) before returning to school. Even if your child is not diagnosed with Influenza but has a fever, please consider following the same recommendation as we want to limit the spread of this sickness as much as possible.
Lost and Found
Locker Clean Out
All students will clean out their lockers before spring break. All items, including rain boots will be sent home.
Recess Gear
As the temperature warms up and all this snow melts, the playground will be very wet. We will encourage students to wear their snow pants to help keep their clothes dry. We will require boots for play on the hard surface if it is wet.
