We are trying something new this year in regards to teachers' requests! We are busy compiling a list of THS Teachers’ Wishlists and we are hoping to grant some wishes! We asked them to think both big and small...reasonable and shoot for the moon! We asked. "What can we help you get for your classroom or to enhance your teaching experience or something that will inspire your students." Please consider helping the PSO continue to support THS teachers. Our Wishlist Drive will go from 12/5/22- 1/06/23. This would be a great way to get your year end tax deductible donation taken care of and helping out a teacher and their students!

Who are We? Tigard High School Parent Support Organization is a collaboration of parents, staff and community members who generously support our high school community through fundraising and activities. The funds we raise are given back to our school in the form of scholarships, granting teacher ‘wish list’ requests and hosting staff appreciation events.
Join Us! We meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 4pm in the Principal’s office. Come see what PSO does and how much FUN we have!
We Need You! There are several opportunities to volunteer your time and talent:
Auction Committee-
Decorations - centerpieces and venue decor
Donation Pick-up - collecting items from donors
Donation/Basket Acquisition - contact businesses/individuals for items to be auctioned
Day of Event Set up/Management
Dining/Restaurant Fundraising- coordinating with local restaurants that will donate meal proceeds back to PSO
Hospitality- organizing two staff meal events in October and April
Volunteer Coordinator- messaging volunteers with sing up opportunities
Communications Coordinator- keep our community updated with events and opportunities via social media posts and other communication tools

Are you interested in learning more about a career in the medical field? Our next Cookies and Careers will feature careers in healthcare. Come to the career center on Tuesday December 13th during both lunches to hear more about the different careers in the healthcare industry and the education and training required. Nursing, medical assisting and more. Bring your lunch and have a cookie on us!

Scholarship Information Session/Sesión de información para becas
Attention seniors. There will be a scholarship information session in the Career Center during both lunches on Thursday, December 15th. Come and learn about the local scholarships posted on Naviance, as well as PCC scholarships, OSAC, Oregon Promise and more. Feel free to bring your lunch. Start applying during winter break! Most scholarships are posted in January and February.

Wrestling kicked off the season at the Lebanon Tournament last Wednesday. Coaches Geoff Jarman, Kaleb Reese, Zach Jones, and Sara Waddell have a good mix of returning wrestlers and quite a few students who are new to the sport. The wrestling team capped off the week at the Cascade Tournament. Cade McCallister and Rhaya Waddell both took second in their weight classes, and Chase Dennis finished third. Natalie Wilhoit and Lucas Seitz also placed 5th and 6th respectively. Their next competition will be in 1.5 weeks, Wednesday, December 14th at home in a Dual vs. Lake Oswego!
Boys and Girls Basketball played their first games of the season on Friday and Saturday at the annual Bill Gabel Invitational: Tip-Off Basketball Tournament. Bill Gabel was a loving father of 3 THS graduates and a huge Tigard Basketball supporter. Bill Lost his life to ALS and will forever be missed.
Both varsity teams finished the tournament 1-1.
Friday, Hailey Shimojima scored 21 points followed by Jordyn Smith who scored 13 points in their rout over David Douglas. Hailey and Jordyn were also the high scorers in their loss to Sherwood on Saturday.
The boys fell to David Douglas on Friday, Sawyer Wolf scored 20 points with 5 rebounds and Colt Ness scored 15 points with 7 assists. The team recovered Saturday with a big win over Sunset. Douglas Bailey scored 16 points with 5 rebounds, Kalim Brown matched Bailey's 16 points and added 4 rebounds, and Malik Brown scored 10 points with 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
Boys Scores:
Varsity fell to David Douglas 62-68 and beat Sunset 70-52
JV beat David Douglas 54-39 and beat Sherwood in overtime 54-51
Freshman beat David Douglas 71-29 and lost to Sherwood by 9
Girls Scores:
Varsity beat David Douglas 65-29 and fell to Sherwood 39-56
JV beat David Douglas 56-31 and lost to Sherwood 26-46
JV2 fell to both David Douglas and Jesuit
Congratulations to the girls coaches Erica Hansen, Delbert Riodil, Natalie Clark, Ross Masters, and Carrie Stock; and the boys coaches Shawn Alderman, Jon Millbrooke, Ken Harms, Stu Bailey, John Weber, and Kevin Jordan who have put in a lot work with these teams getting them ready for the season.
The boys play at West Salem next Tuesday and the girls are at home vs. Liberty.
The boys and girls swim teams begin their competition at Lakeridge next Thursday, December 8th. Good luck to coach John Ruzicka, Tristan Larsen, and Mallory Reinwald and their teams!
El equipo de lucha inició la temporada en el Torneo de Lebanon el miércoles pasado. Los entrenadores Geoff Jarman, Kaleb Reese, Zach Jones y Sara Waddell tienen una buena combinación de luchadores que regresan y bastantes estudiantes que son nuevos en el deporte. El equipo de lucha culminó la semana en el Torneo Cascade. Cade McCallister y Rhaya Waddell ocuparon el segundo lugar en sus categorías de peso y Chase Dennis terminó tercero. Bill Gabel fue un amoroso padre de 3 graduados de THS y un gran seguidor de baloncesto en Tigard. Bill perdió la vida a causa de ALS y siempre lo extrañaremos.
Ambos equipos de nivel “varsity” terminaron el torneo 1-1.
El viernes, Hailey Shimojima anotó 21 puntos seguida por Jordyn Smith, quien anotó 13 puntos en su derrota sobre David Douglas. Hailey y Jordyn también fueron las que metieron más puntos en su derrota ante Sherwood el sábado.
