Thankful for November
Daffodil Planting
Second grade students planted daffodils with the Upper Saddle River Garden Club. Each class had the opportunity to work with members of the Club to learn about the flower and plant daffodil bulbs in the front of Reynolds School. We look forward to being able to enjoy their beauty when they bloom in the spring.
Rocket Day
During November’s Rocket Day, Mrs. Slacin read the book, The Thankful Book by Todd Parr. Afterwards, several students and teachers shared things for which they are grateful. Some of the things many of us at Reynolds are grateful for are friends, family, and our school community. Members of the Student Advisory Council also introduced a Winter Hat, Glove, and Sock Collection. All donations will be shared with Eva's Village.
What Can You Hear?
First graders learned about sound during science. They learned about how vibrations make sound, along with pitch, tone, and volume. The students experimented with this by making their own kazoos out of toilet paper rolls and wax paper. They also used tuning forks to learn about how sound travels through water!
