Expectations Review and The Great Kindness Challenge
This week admin will visit 6th and 7th grade AVID, ELD, and Expository Reading & Writing classes on Monday for a school rules and expectations review. Eighth grade teachers will review the rules and expectations with their students since they had an assembly when we returned from break. Students will also sign an anti-bully pledge, which needs a parent/guardian signature as well. The pledge is due by Friday, January 31st. Students who turn in the pledge to their teacher on Tuesday will be entered into a drawing for gift cards and they will get a coupon for a free bag of popcorn from the student store. If they turn it in by Wednesday, they will get a coupon. The goal is for every Kennedy Cougar and their family to turn in a pledge. It will be listed in PowerSchool as a graded assignment. A copy of the presentation and pledge can be found below.
To encourage kindness and positive behavior, Kennedy will be participating in The Great Kindness Challenge. Students, their families, and Kennedy staff are encouraged to commit to completing one random act of kindness every day this week. Information about the challenge will be given to students during the rules review presentation. All staff members and families are encouraged to talk about and discuss acts of kindness with their students. Here is a link for more information: The Great Kindness Challenge
