What is Mechanical Engineering?

Mechanical Engineering is the discipline of engineering that deals with the design, construction and design of machines. I would enjoy pursuing a job in this field because I enjoy tinkering with small items and assembling them together with other small parts to make a larger piece with bigger purpose.

A day in the life of a Mechanical Engineer

There are many different jobs that a mechanical engineer can perform. Some of these day-to-day duties include supervising technicians, conduction research, plan and manage projects, design machines, analyzing pre-existing machines, supervising, and developing.

How much can an entry-level mechanical engineer make?

This depends on the location in which the engineer plans on working, because the demands for mechanical engineers are different in various locations, varying the pay, but the starting salary is about $61,726.

Required Education

To become a mechanical engineer you must have a strong grasp on mechanics and a basic understanding of other fields such as civil engineering and electrical engineering. The minimal requirement to receive a job in mechanical engineering is obtaining your bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and your professional engineering license.
