The U.S. Department of Agriculture waiver that allowed Plano ISD to provide free meals to all students during the 2021-22 school year has expired. Plano ISD will RESUME CHARGING FOR ALL MEALS during the 2022-23 school year based on student eligibility for meal benefits.

Families who may qualify should complete a federal meal application for free or reduced-price meals, available through Parent Portal or via the website at Click the green SchoolCafé button to begin. Families who already have a SchoolCafé account can log in to complete the meal application. Families who do not have an account can create one by selecting that option on the main SchoolCafé page. View this SchoolCafé information video for instruction on how to complete the application.

At this time, it doesn't look like PASAR will open for the start of the year. You may know someone who would love to work for PASAR. It's an excellent part-time job for someone who loves working with children, with only afternoon hours and NO WEEKENDS! Students taking college classes and high school students who are in the CO-OP program are great candidates for this job! Our PASAR program can open if we can find people to care for our children. If you know of someone, please give them my email address, If you are in need of other options at this time, please email Mrs. Wilson at

PACE stands for Plano Academic and Creative Education and is the cornerstone of the district's gifted and talented education program serving students in kindergarten through 12th grade. At the elementary level, PACE is a weekly pull out program in which students are removed from the general education classroom to work under the guidance of a gifted specialist. The time spent in the PACE program varies according to the grade level of the student.

Students participate in PACE based upon the results of standardized tests and observation/performance in the classroom. Parents, teachers, and/or students may make referrals for PACE assessment by completing the appropriate grade level referral form by the stated deadline. The referral form will be open from August 12th through October 21st. All referrals must be submitted before 5 PM on October 21st.

For more detailed information about the PACE program, please refer to the link below. Online referral forms can be found in the green sidebar box.

Contact our Gifted Specialists, Kyla Ahnemann ( or Sarah Tudor (, with any questions.
