Monday - Symphonic/Concert Bands - Solo/Ensemble Google Form Due

Announcements
-Snap Raise - Only a few days left to donate! Help the Band meet our Fundraising Goal!
If anyone is interested in making small ($10?? more/less) donations under the names of students who have no email responses, we find that we can get our "participation percentage" up past the 70% required to cut Snap Raises take. We pay the company less percentage of our total if our participation is above 70%.

-8th Grade Band Students can participate in the BJHS Bands Popcorn Fundraiser to raise money for the 2020 BJHS Band Trip to the Outback Bowl.
Brochure and Forms are available in the DMS Band Room.
Online Payment- Enter Code 962021 for BJHS Band.
Orders and Payment are due Monday, March 25.
-Springs Fees and Rental Agreements are Past Due!
Please get any Fees or Spring Instrument Rental Agreements in as soon as possible. If needed, email info@dmsbands.org to set up a payment plan.
-LOST AND FOUND - Please check lost and found for missing coats, jackets, shirts, shoes, books, lunchboxes...All items will be donated on Friday 3/15.
Symphonic Band
-Solo and Ensemble - April 13 - Hartselle HS
This google form MUST be filled out by Monday if you want a spot in this year's solo/ensemble festival. This is optional for students. The opportunity to play a solo or an ensemble for a judge is a great chance to gain experience and be awarded a medal for a superior rating. Please understand that each EVENT is $5 - not per person. -MPA Competition - Symphonic Band: 2:30pm performance - JCHS
- Students in Symphonic Band must return permission slips for MPA by Tuesday in class or else he/she will not be permitted to attend.
-Parents are encouraged to attend the MPA competition performances (but cannot go into the sight reading room). The concerts are free to the public, but you must be on time.
- "STUDENTS MUST BE PICKED UP BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN - THERE WILL NOT BE A BUS HOME" -- CHECK OUT ANYTIME BETWEEN 4 AND 7PM (probably pick up in the JC cafeteria, we will go there after the truck is loaded after our performance)."

- Lastly - SNAP RAISE!! We are almost at $10,000! Please spend this week making calls, sending emails, sharing the link on social media and texting our friends and family. We need to go strong this last week.

Students - ARRIVE at DMS at 7:30 for roll call. If they ride a bus that gets there around 8:00am, they need to find another ride that morning. We will leave as close to 8am as we can. Concert Band should be DRESSED in Concert Attire and ready that morning.

Reeds (Clarinet and Saxophone Players)
Just a reminder that the band sells reeds for "emergencies." We are not meant to be the supplier of students reeds. Buying individual reeds from the band room is actually more expensive in the long run than purchasing a box on Amazon. See the Charms email sent out on 2/8/19 for links to suggest brands and sizes.
Snap! Raise Fundraiser
Our Snap! Raise Fundraiser ends this week! It’s not too late to participate. Remember that the higher the participation, the higher percentage of money we get to keep. Thank you for your help fundraising for your program.
Solo and Ensemble
If your student signed up to attend solo and ensemble, please remember that the cost to perform is $5 per event. Please send that in as soon as possible
Additional details about times will be sent out as soon as we receive it from the district. Students should be working regularly on their solo for the next three weeks.

-An order for the DMS Percussion Ensemble Show t-shirts will be placed this week. Students receive their shirt at no charge (cost was included in the Perc Ens fee).

DINNER WITH THE DRUMLINE
Tuesday, March 26 is Dinner with the Drumline at BJHS - 6:00pm.
DMS Percussion Ensemble and BJHS Drumline will perform.
Cost is $13.00 per person, Meal is Catered by Mangia’s Italian Restaurant.
I have tickets at Discovery, please send payment in an enveloped marked (Dinner with the Drumline).

Signing up for Kroger rewards is one of the easiest ways you can fundraise for the band. You can link your existing card to DMS Bands by following the information below:
Registration Instructions:
The Kroger Community Rewards program is an ideal way to support your favorite non-profit or charity organization. The program allocates funds to participating organizations based on the purchases that registered members, family and friends of the organization have made at Kroger using their Kroger Plus card. Each individual should enroll their Kroger Plus Cards online at the Kroger secure website, www.krogercommunityrewards.com and then choose the organization they wish to support.
-Planet Fundraiser:
Download the Planet Fundraiser app and choose Discovery Middle School Band.
Every time you shop at a local merchant (such as Target or Shaggy’s), simply open the app and snap a pic of your receipt. You can also choose to shop at various online retailers through the app. Planet Fundraiser will give back to DMS Bands!
