New guidance was announced on returning to school from a COVID positive diagnosis. I want to review the two ways your child may return to school:

Option 1- Isolate at home for ten days. The first day you test positive is considered Day 0, then you count ten days and then return on the 11th day.
Example - Positive Test on Friday, December 31st (Day 0), Isolate January 1st - January 10th, Return to School on Tuesday, January 11th. Students should by symptom-free or improvement of symptoms when they return.

Option 2 - Isolate at home for five days, AND:
  • there are no symptoms or if symptoms are improving,
  • there is no fever for 24 hours without fever reducing medication.
  • you provide a NEGATIVE rapid antigen test before returning to school
*Please note- all the above criteria must be met to return to school after 5 days.
Example - Positive Test on Friday, December 31st (Day 0), Isolate on January 1st - January 5th, Return to School on Thursday, January 6th. Students must commit to wearing a well fitted mask at all times on campus.

Procedure to return after five days of Isolation:
Email and CC with the following information:
  • Name
  • Grade
  • Student ID
  • Date of initial Positive Test (Day 0)
  • Picture of your child holding their clearly visible negative test. Faint lines no matter how faint indicate a Positive Result. Please make sure the photo is clear so that it is clear that there is no faint line.
