In coordination with Southridge, GEAR UP is starting Parent Nights with our first one "Surviving High School; Part 1" scheduled for November 20th in the library at 7pm. We invite all parents to attend. We will be covering items such as understanding progress reports, how to contact your students’ teacher or counselor, and learning how to login to PowerSchool to check grades and assignments.

We are excited about this opportunity and look forward to meeting you and working with your student.

Workshop Wednesdays

GEAR UP is introducing Workshop Wednesdays! Each Wednesday GEAR UP will present a workshop to help your student improve study and test taking skills. Workshops will be during lunch AND after school in the library on regular school days, and on early release days workshop will be in E216 at 11:00 AM. The workshop this week is 'How to Study Smart' on November 19th.

Below is a two month calendar showing the dates and subject matter for each of GEAR UP's workshops. The idea behind this series of workshops is to help students be better prepared for finals in January. We will run the same series again during second semester to make sure we can still assist those students who are in sports. If you could help us help your student by encouraging them to attend the workshops that they feel would help them be successful that would be great!
