A message from our Executive Director
Dear GLOBE community,
As we enter the fall season it looks like we will be experiencing some inclement weather over the coming days as the remnants of Hurricane Ian pass through our area. Tomorrow's 6th grade Rock Eagle trip is continuing on schedule, however, Sunday's International Festival has been postponed and will now take place on Sunday, October 16.
Parent/teacher conference days and Fall Break
A reminder that October 5 and 6 are parent/teacher conference days at both campuses and so there will be no school on those two days, followed by fall break from October 7–10.

Parent/teacher conferences
We will hold our parent/teacher conferences on October 5-6. There will be no school on those days as teachers will be engaged in their in-person or virtual conferences with GLOBE families.
Hispanic Heritage celebration
LC will be having a Hispanic Heritage Celebration on October 14 at 9am, for Spanish track families only.
Progress Monitoring Tools and Resources
We use a series of progress monitoring tools and resources throughout the grade levels and language tracks. Among them are the following reading assessments: Fountas and Pinnell (F&P) in English, Level Learning on the Mandarin track, and Groupe Beauchemin (GB) on the French track. Students in grades 2 and 3 also take the STandards-based Measurement of Proficiency (STAMP) in their target language.
Additional assessments that are administered throughout the year to help gauge students’ learning include, but are not limited to, iStation's Indicators of Progress (ISIPS) and Rapid Automatized Naming (RAN), and NWEA’s Measures of Academic Progress (MAP).
Nut Free Policy
Please remember that The GLOBE Academy has a “Nut Free Policy”. GLOBE is committed to offering safe educational environments for all students. Some students have life-threatening anaphylactic allergies to peanuts and tree nuts, therefore, nuts (and products that contain nuts) are not permitted at school.
We are seeing an increasing amount of nut products during lunch. Please be aware that these products will be immediately confiscated in order to keep all students safe. If it is safe to do so, items will be placed in a baggie and sent home with the student. In some cases, however, items may need to be immediately disposed of.
Campus Notes - Upper Campus

We will return to the same location on Friday afternoon. If the buses return early, we will walk students back into the building for a carpool pickup. An email will be sent to parents with updates. All students will be provided a cold breakfast bag to take on the bus.
Important: All students must show a negative Covid test result before getting on the bus.
We will hold our parent/teacher conferences on October 5-6. There will be no school on those days as teachers will be engaged in their in-person or virtual conferences with GLOBE families.
