Math
Core Lesson
The rest of Module is all about adding and subtracting through the hundred thousands place. Students are extending their knowledge from third grade about regrouping and applying it to larger numbers. Also, we are working with simple word problems and tape diagrams to model these problems.
Multiplication Fact Fluency
We take a 2 minute test weekly, and this is worth 20% of their overall grade. If you have any questions, please see me.
Homework
This week's homework requires students to do a few new things. One is to multiply multi-digit numbers. The other is to use the partial quotients method of division. Please view the videos below to help students understand how to do these things. Both videos are student friendly, but it may be helpful if you watch it with them to help them work through the problems. I also encourage them to watch it several times if needed.

Science Fair Projects
We will be sending home information about the Science Fair this week! I know that this is MUCH earlier than last year, but we'd like to submit entries to the Duval County Science Fair, which takes place in December. Last year, students completed their project as a group in class. This year, however, each scholar will be required to complete an individual project at home. If you have any questions after reviewing the packets that will be send home, please contact me.

Progress Reports & Google Classroom
- Missing - The assignment has not been turned in. It is a "0" in the gradebook until it is complete.
- Done - The assignment has been completed and is waiting to be checked/graded by me.
- Returned - The assignment has been graded and returned to the student. They should open it up to see their grade or any comments that have been made about the assignment.
- Done Late - The scholar completed the assignment and turned it, but it was late. Typically, this does not affect their grade on the assignment.
Any assignment that is missing, or that has a low score, can be resubmitted for a higher grade. However, full credit will not be given for resubmitted work. Each newly correct answer will be awarded half points.
If you would like to see a grade printout of your scholar's assignments, I'd be happy to send one home or e-mail it to you. Just ask!
