8th Grade Book Club Students Skype with Author D.J. MacHale

This past Wednesday, December 2nd, the 8th grade SYLO book club members were able to talk with D.J. MacHale via Skype. Students learned so much about his inspiration for writing, how he creates and develops characters, and his writing process. Mrs. Alden stated, "Mr. MacHale validated everything I tell my students about writing: use authors for inspiration, write what you know, and revise, revise, revise." According to Aden S, "It was a little overwhelming at first because he is famous; the whole experience made the book more special to me."
