December 2018 Issue 9
Computer Science Education Week
The first week of December brings us Computer Science Education Week; a week to celebrate and bring awareness to the field of computer science. Today we live in the digital age or what some are deeming the 4th industrial revolution. Technology surrounds us in our daily lives regardless of our employment, socioeconomic status, geographic location, or educational discipline. Yet our education system has been unable to keep up with the pace of technology leaving millions of jobs unfilled nationally each year. Let's remember to take a little time this week to promote and expose students to computer science, coding/programming and the infinite directions it can/will take us!
Be sure to take plenty of pictures this Thursday during our Hour of Code Event! Keep the twitter feeds filled with great student learning and us the hashtag #wcsdcodes. I look forward to seeing what students learn and create.
Please keep the integration and collaboration projects coming my way. I'm here to help any way I can!
If you are interested in collaborating, please reach out to me if you have ideas about how we can work together.
