Happy New Year 2019!

Welcome Letter from Interim Assistant Principal Richard Keegan

Dear Delran Intermediate School Community,

It is an honor to introduce myself as the Interim Assistant Principal of Delran Intermediate School and to join this extraordinary school community. I hope that this note finds you enjoying the New Year and that your children are looking forward to a renewed commitment to academic success in 2019. I can assure you that I share in Delran’s commitment to caring for your children each and every day while providing them a world-class learning environment.

I arrive at DIS as a seasoned teacher and building administrator, but also as a long time Delran resident and husband to a school counselor and father to a 3rd grade teacher. Coming from a family of educators, my goal is to continue the tradition of excellence here at Delran Intermediate School, to explore new ways to meet the needs of all students, and to effectively communicate with parents and community members. I firmly believe that every child can excel and that the partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their powers to shape their future and the future of our community.

My passion for education and supporting the success of all students has been shaped over 40 years as a science teacher, instructional supervisor, assistant principal, and acting principal in the South Jersey area. In addition, I have served as a school administrator in several interim positions in Delran and in the region, as well as an adjunct professor of education at Rider University. In 2008, I was privileged and humbled to receive three prestigious awards in education: New Jersey Assistant Principal of the Year; New Jersey School Principals Association – Visionary Leadership Award; and the Burlington County School Administrators Golden Lamp Award for Leadership in Education Excellence.

In closing, please know that my door is always open to you. I heartily welcome your conversation and positive input throughout this year. Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work. I look forward to celebrating our collective successes in the New Year.

Mr. Richard J. Keegan
Interim Assistant Principal
Delran Intermediate School
