Jaguar News
Thursday, May 26, 2022
We have reached the end of the 2021/22 school year! I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your support this entire year. Whether you contributed in a large way or were a "behind-the-scenes" volunteer, your assistance was invaluable. This school is thriving today because of all of the support (time, talent or treasure) each and every one of you has provided in your own unique way.
To those families of 8th grade students- we want to wish you a fond farewell. We hope that your student's time spent here at Gentry will be remembered with many cherished and happy middle school memories. And, for those families of 6th and 7th grade students, we are hopeful that the 2022/23 school year is one of your student's best years yet.
Have a great summer!

Track Uniform Turn-In- Don't Delay!
If your student participated on the GMS Track and Field team and they have not yet returned their track uniform, NOW is the time! Please have them place their clean uniform (shorts, jersey top and sweatshirt) in a plastic bag with their name clearly marked on the outside of the bag. We are open over the summer so you can just drop it off in the main office. Thanks for your help with this!
Lost and Found Items
All items that are left in the lost and found at the end of the day today (5:00 pm), May 26th will be donated to a charity of our choice. Please don't delay in having your student stop by our lost and found located in our cafeteria to check for lost items. Items that are smaller and of more value are locked and stored in the office.

Incoming 8th Grade Students Proof of Immunizations- Don't Delay!
The primary dose of the Tdap and Meningitis vaccines are generally administered to adolescents in the 6th grade (or between the ages of 11-12). It is a state REQUIREMENT that we obtain proof that your student has received the primary dose of both of these vaccinations PRIOR to their first day of 8th grade.
If your student will be attending summer school as an incoming 8th grade student they will need to provide this proof PRIOR to starting summer school. Eighth grade students who have NOT provided us with this documentation will not be permitted to attend classes until this documentation is provided.
There is no need to wait! This documentation can be submitted to our nurse any time after your student receives these two vaccines. Providing this proof promptly will ensure that your student will be ready to start the 8th grade without delay.
GMS Summer Sports Camps
Gentry Middle School will be hosting various summer sports programs and camps throughout the summer months (June-August) for all incoming 7th and 8th grade students. The developmentally appropriate activities that will be offered are designed and selected by qualified professionals with years of coaching experience to ensure your child's enjoyment. Activities will take place in the school gymnasium and playing fields. Please click on the links below for camp and open gym workouts and for our camp registration form. Please return registration forms to the main GMS office.
