Broadmoor's Weekly Wildcat News!
February 3-7, 2020
A Fun Week at BES!
Dear Broadmoor Families,
This past week was SO much fun. I hope it is a week the kids will remember for years to come. I also hope it is a week we can have every year - that would mean the Chiefs are in the Super Bowl again! Check out all the updates below on the fun events and results we had this week from the Book Tasting, the Spelling Bee and Kansas Day!
When the Chiefs win, it is believed that a parade will be held on Wednesday, February 5th. We will not be closed that day, it is a required school day. However, we will be having a wonderful Chiefs Super Party of our own at BES that day! I will send out more details if need be! Just be sure your kiddos watch the Puppy Bowl and pay attention to the Super Bowl for some fun trivia and prizes!
Our district is planning a bond election in April this year. This bond will provide much needed improvements to our district's facilities, but especially to BES. I encourage you to check out the 'Bond 2020' tab on our district website, come to the informational meetings and reach out to me to learn more! I included a link to the Bond 2020 information below! It is a very exciting time to be a Wildcat!
This week we will kick off our Kids Heart Challenge with a fun assembly on Wednesday - the kids are going to love it! They'll get to see some of their favorite teachers get slimed! You can find out more about the Heart Challenge in Coach's Corner below! We also have Open Gym Sunday, Feb. 9th from 5-7pm at BES. Hope to see you there!
Make sure you are following us on Facebook to get updates throughout the week! Have a great week and thank you, as always, for your support!

A Note from Nurse Candice:
Flu season is upon us! Please review district policy regarding illness and exclusion from school.
If diagnosed with influenza-please follow your Dr's recommendations. CDC and KDHE recommend stay home for 7 days after the onset of symptoms. Studies have shown a person is still contagious for 7 days. USD 416 influenza policy states, the student must be well enough to attend school, 24 hrs fever free, vomiting free, and diarrhea free without the aid of medication. Encourage your child to wash hands, refrain from touching face, and do not share items such as water bottles or chapstick. Please contact Nurse Candice for any other questions or concerns.
Coach's Corner
This program helps fund some of the fun extras that we love to be able to offer our kids at BES. There are some really fun incentives for the kids - including seeing some of their favorite teachers dress up, dye their hair or even take a slime pie to the face! It's sure to bring some fun to our winter!
If you have any questions, please contact the office or myself. Thank you for your support!
