Remorse Period Optimization by Ankit Mundra

Once an Order gets created in DOMS the order is placed on remorse hold for 30 mins. This period is the remorse period and provides the customer time to cancel his order. All order processes are performed only after the 30 mins. Thus adding a delay before an order reaches warehouse for fulfillment. Based on past data, it takes an average of around 50-55 mins to release an order for fulfillment to DC/Warehouse.

In order to improve the overall time to Click to DC, the remorse implementation was optimized as part of the Spring Release -16.



  • Fraud check and PID will be initiated after 16 mins. This ensures that processes that can be performed when order is on hold are completed. And as soon as the 30 mins is completed the order is ready to be dropped for fulfillment. This change has been implemented for all geos except China, which will be implemented as part of future release.
  • In first week of implementation, an improvement of around 16 mins has been observed for 90% of the orders.

Athlete of the Month:

Raj from Team Fintopia won the Athlete of the Month Award for constantly delivering high quality work. He stepped up and handled unexpected work around the new fraud tool analysis.

Wii Olympic - 2016:

In this year's Wii Olympic tournament, the 4 scrum teams battled it out in a game of cow racing. Vageesh Murthy from Fintopia retained the championship medal by coming out as the winner 2 times in a row. Karthick from Drive train and Tomasz from Atlas took the runner up positions.

Unveiling of the Spring Release Mascots:
Spring Release - 2016 :

Commerce Engine supported another successful release this spring. Scott won the Challenge of Predicting when the war room would close - 4/27 6:15 PM. Though his victory is contested with a match fixing allegation!!
